Online dental consultation
Not every dental problem needs an immediate clinic visit. At VRA Health you can consult a dentist online about toothache, bleeding gums, mouth ulcers, sensitivity, or a treatment plan you have been given – and find out what needs urgent attention and what can wait.
Our dentist
Your consultation is with a qualified dental surgeon:
- Dr. Venkatesh – MDS Public Health Dentistry, RJIHS Raichur
Conditions we help with
- Toothache and tooth sensitivity
- Bleeding, swollen or receding gums
- Mouth ulcers and white or red patches in the mouth
- Bad breath
- Wisdom tooth pain
- Children's teeth, teething and cavity prevention
- Second opinions on advised root canal, extraction, braces or implants
- Dental care during pregnancy and for people with diabetes
What an online consultation can and cannot do
It can: look at your teeth and gums on camera and in photos, review dental X-rays, advise on pain relief and medicines, tell you how urgent the problem is, and explain treatment options.
It cannot: perform fillings, cleaning, root canal treatment or extractions; you will need a dental clinic for these.
How to prepare
- Clear photos of the affected teeth or gums, taken with a phone torch
- Any dental X-ray (IOPA or OPG) reports or images
- Your treatment plan or estimate if you want a second opinion
- A list of your medicines
Second opinions and patients outside India
Many families use VRA Health for a second opinion before a major decision, or to consult a dentist they trust from abroad. You can share reports, scans and discharge summaries before the call, and the doctor will go through them with you in plain language. Medicines prescribed by a doctor in India may need a prescription from a local doctor before a pharmacy outside India will dispense them.
When to go to a hospital instead
Online consultations are not for emergencies. Go to a hospital or emergency dentist at once for facial swelling spreading towards the eye or neck, difficulty swallowing or breathing, high fever with a tooth infection, bleeding after an extraction that does not stop with pressure, or a jaw injury. If a permanent tooth is knocked out, keep it in milk and see a dentist within an hour. In India call 108 (ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital; abroad, call your local emergency number.
