How Indian families abroad use VRA Health

Your trusted Indian doctor

Keep seeing an Indian specialist after moving abroad, in a language you are comfortable with, without waiting weeks for a local appointment.

Second opinions

Before a major operation or a long-term treatment, share your reports and scans and talk the options through with an independent specialist.

Parents in India

Your parents consult the same doctors from home in India and pay in rupees. You can help them choose the doctor and get their reports ready from wherever you are.

Children and new mothers

Paediatricians, neonatologists and lactation specialists for questions about feeding, growth, vaccinations and everyday illness, in your own language.

Indian slot times in your city

Most doctors offer morning and evening slots in India. Today, that means:

San Francisco9:30 pm (previous day)6:30 am
London5:30 am2:30 pm

Singapore12:30 pm9:30 pm
Sydney3:30 pm12:30 am (next day)

You never need to convert times yourself: every slot on the booking page is shown in your local time, with Indian time alongside.

Fees and payment

Each doctor sets their own consultation fee. Patients outside India see the full amount in their own currency (USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, AED, SGD, EUR and more) before they book. It includes the doctor's fee and the VRA Health international service fee, and there is nothing more to pay. You pay online only after the doctor accepts your request.

How it works

  1. Choose a specialist. Compare training, languages and the fee in your currency.
  2. Request a slot. Pick a time shown in your local time and describe your concern. Keep your reports ready to share.
  3. Pay after the doctor accepts. Pay online in your currency.
  4. Join the video call. The doctor calls you at the appointed time on the website or the VRA Health app.
  5. Get your advice and prescription. Notes and any digital prescription appear in your account after the call.

Frequently asked questions

Can NRIs consult Indian doctors online through VRA Health?

Yes. Patients living outside India book the same video consultations and second opinions as patients in India. VRA Health has served patients in countries including the USA, Canada and Australia. You need a stable internet connection and a phone or computer with a camera and microphone.

Will appointment times be shown in my time zone?

Yes. Slots are shown in your own local time, with Indian time alongside, so you do not have to convert times yourself.

Which currency do I pay in?

Patients outside India see the full fee in their own currency, for example USD, GBP, CAD, AUD, AED, SGD or EUR, before they book, and pay online in that currency after the doctor accepts the request. The fee shown includes the doctor's fee and the VRA Health international service fee.

Can my parents in India use VRA Health?

Yes. Patients in India consult the same doctors from home on the website or the Android and iOS apps and pay in rupees. You can help your parents choose a specialist and get their reports ready from wherever you live, and the prescription stays in their account.

Can I get a second opinion from an Indian specialist on treatment planned abroad?

Yes. Book the relevant specialist and share your reports, scans and current prescriptions. The doctor reviews them with you on the video call and explains the options. A second opinion does not replace the doctor treating you in person, but helps you make an informed decision.

Is a prescription from an Indian doctor valid outside India?

Where it is medically appropriate, the doctor issues a digital prescription in your account. Pharmacies outside India usually do not accept a prescription from a doctor registered in India, so treat it as professional medical advice and check your local rules; you may need a local doctor to prescribe the medicine.

Which languages can I consult in?

All doctors consult in English, and many also speak Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, Urdu, Punjabi or Malayalam. The languages each doctor speaks are listed on their profile.

Is a teleconsultation suitable for emergencies?

No. For chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms or any other emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

Not for emergencies. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital. Teleconsultations are for non-emergency care, follow-ups and second opinions.
