How a teleconsultation works

  1. Choose a specialist. Browse by specialty or search by name and compare profiles, languages and fees.
  2. Request a time slot. Pick a convenient slot, shown in your local time, and describe your concern.
  3. Pay after the doctor accepts. Once the doctor confirms, pay the consultation fee online in your currency.
  4. Join the video call. The doctor calls you at the appointed time on the website or the VRA Health app. Keep your reports handy.
  5. Get your prescription and advice. Your digital prescription and notes appear in your account after the consultation.

Teleconsultations for NRIs and patients outside India

Indian families abroad, in countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia and the UK, use teleconsultations to consult a trusted Indian specialist in their own language, to get a second opinion before a major treatment, to review the reports of parents living in India, and to continue care with Indian doctors after moving abroad. Book from the website or the Android and iOS apps; all you need is a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.

Frequently asked questions

What is a teleconsultation on VRA Health?

A teleconsultation is a scheduled one-to-one video consultation with a specialist doctor through the VRA Health website or the Android and iOS apps. You choose the doctor, request a time, and the doctor calls you at the appointed time. No separate video app is needed.

Who are the doctors?

VRA Health doctors are Indian specialists and super-specialists, many trained at institutes such as AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS and NIMS. Each doctor's qualifications, training institute, medical registration, languages and fee are shown on their profile before you book.

Can I consult an Indian doctor from outside India?

Yes. VRA Health has served patients in countries including the USA, Canada and Australia. Appointment slots are shown in your own local time (with Indian time alongside), and you pay the consultation fee online in your own currency.

Can I get a second opinion on a diagnosis or a planned surgery?

Yes. Book the relevant specialist, share your reports, scans and current prescriptions, and the doctor will review them with you on the video call and explain the options. A second opinion consultation does not replace the doctor who is treating you in person, but helps you make an informed decision.

Will I get a prescription after the consultation?

Where it is medically appropriate, the doctor issues a digital prescription that you can view and download in your account and share as a link. If you live outside India, check your local rules, because pharmacies abroad may not accept a prescription from an Indian doctor.

How much does a teleconsultation cost?

Each doctor sets their own consultation fee, which is shown on the doctor's profile before you book. You pay only after the doctor accepts your appointment request.

Which languages are consultations available in?

All doctors consult in English, and many also consult in Hindi, Telugu and other Indian languages. The languages each doctor speaks are listed on their profile.

Is a teleconsultation suitable for emergencies?

No. Teleconsultations are for non-emergency care, follow-ups and opinions. For chest pain, breathing difficulty, severe bleeding, stroke symptoms or any other emergency, go to the nearest hospital or call your local emergency number immediately.
