Online pediatric endocrinologist consultation
Pediatric endocrinology covers hormone problems in children and teenagers – growth, puberty, thyroid, diabetes and more. At VRA Health you can consult a pediatric endocrinologist online, without travelling to the few cities where these super-specialists practise.
Much of this care depends on growth charts, blood tests and X-rays, so a video consultation is a practical way to get an expert opinion and regular follow-up.
Our pediatric endocrinologists
Both doctors are trained specifically in children's hormone disorders:
- Dr. Saniya G. Aggarwal – DM Pediatric Endocrinology, PGIMER Chandigarh
- Dr. Kishore Baske – ESPE (UK), Royal London Hospital
Conditions we help with
- Short stature and slow growth
- Early or delayed puberty
- Type 1 diabetes in children, including insulin and sugar-monitoring advice
- Thyroid problems, including congenital hypothyroidism found on newborn screening
- Childhood obesity and its hormonal causes
- Adrenal problems, including congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH)
- Differences in sex development
- Rickets, vitamin D and calcium problems
What an online consultation can and cannot do
It can: review growth measurements, blood tests and bone-age X-rays, explain the cause of a growth or puberty concern, start or adjust thyroid and insulin treatment, and plan further tests.
It cannot: examine your child physically, give growth-hormone injections or other treatments in person, or manage an emergency such as diabetic ketoacidosis.
How to prepare
- Your child's height and weight measurements over time (and the parents' heights)
- Blood test reports, including thyroid and hormone tests
- Bone-age X-ray report if done
- For diabetes: recent blood sugar log or sensor data, and insulin doses
Second opinions and patients outside India
Many families use VRA Health for a second opinion before a major decision, or to consult a pediatric endocrinologist they trust from abroad. You can share reports, scans and discharge summaries before the call, and the doctor will go through them with you in plain language. Medicines prescribed by a doctor in India may need a prescription from a local doctor before a pharmacy outside India will dispense them.
When to go to a hospital instead
Online consultations are not for emergencies. Go to a hospital at once if a child with diabetes has repeated vomiting, deep or fast breathing, drowsiness or confusion, a low sugar with fits or unconsciousness, or if a newborn is vomiting, not feeding and becoming drowsy. In India call 108 (ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital; abroad, call your local emergency number.
