Online dermatologist consultation
Dermatology covers the skin, hair and nails. Skin problems are often well suited to online care: at VRA Health you can show a dermatologist your rash, acne, hair fall or patches on video or with clear photos, and get a diagnosis and treatment plan without a clinic visit.
Our dermatologist
Your consultation is with a qualified dermatologist:
- Dr. Harika – MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, Osmania Hospital, Hyderabad
Conditions we help with
- Acne and acne marks
- Eczema, dermatitis and itchy skin
- Psoriasis
- Fungal infections (ringworm) that keep coming back
- Hair fall, dandruff and patchy hair loss
- Pigmentation, melasma and white patches (vitiligo)
- Hives (urticaria) and skin allergies
- Nail problems and warts
What an online consultation can and cannot do
It can: look at your skin on video and in photos, diagnose most common conditions, prescribe creams and medicines, review the response and adjust treatment.
It cannot: take a skin biopsy, perform procedures such as cryotherapy or laser, or examine areas that are hard to show on camera; the doctor will tell you if an in-person visit is needed.
How to prepare
- Clear photos of the affected skin in daylight, close-up and from a distance
- A list of creams and medicines you have already tried
- Any allergy or blood test reports
- A quiet, well-lit room for the call
Second opinions and patients outside India
Many families use VRA Health for a second opinion before a major decision, or to consult a dermatologist they trust from abroad. You can share reports, scans and discharge summaries before the call, and the doctor will go through them with you in plain language. Medicines prescribed by a doctor in India may need a prescription from a local doctor before a pharmacy outside India will dispense them.
When to go to a hospital instead
Online consultations are not for emergencies. Go to a hospital at once for a rash with fever that spreads quickly, blistering or peeling skin and mouth sores after a new medicine, swelling of the face, lips or tongue with breathing difficulty, or red, hot, painful skin that is spreading with fever. In India call 108 (ambulance) or go to the nearest hospital; abroad, call your local emergency number.
